چکیده
For effective applicability of reinforced cork, cork composites with metal, glass fiber, and carbon fiber were developed, the effects reinforcing materials on mechanical properties investigated. The bending moduli elasticity (MOE) in 32.7–35.9 MPa range, while strength values 1.62–1.73 range. performance decreased order cork-metal > cork-carbon cork-glass fiber. MOEs improved by 29%–41% compared simple boards, strengths 35%–45% higher. significantly following incorporation thin mesh into middle layer studied composites. strains remarkably higher oak wood, making them promising for applications that require processing, such as curved jointing. internal bond 0.26–0.44 MPa, approximately 0.36–0.60 times lower medium-density boards.

Evaluation of Mechanical and Tribological Properties of Glass/Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer Hybrid Composite
Polymer matrix composites used in different industrial applications due to their enhanced mechanical properties and lightweight. However, these materials are subjected to friction and wear situations in some industrial and automobile applications. Therefore, there is a need to investigate the wear properties of polymer matrix composite materials. This article emphasizes the dry abrasive wear be...
متن کاملMechanical properties of woven glass fiber-reinforced composites.
The aim of this investigation was to measure the flexural and compressive strengths and the corresponding moduli of cylindrical composite specimens reinforced with woven glass fiber. Test specimens were made by light-curing urethane dimethacrylate oligomer with woven glass fiber of 0.18-mm standard thickness. Tests were conducted using four reinforcement methods and two specimen diameters. Flex...
متن کاملMechanical properties of glass fiber-reinforced endodontic posts.
Five types of posts from three different manufacturers (RTD, France, Carbotech, France and Ivoclar-Vivadent, Liechenstein) were subjected to three-point bending tests in order to obtain fatigue results, flexural strength and modulus. Transverse and longitudinal polished sections were examined by scanning electron microscopy and evaluated by computer-assisted image analysis. Physical parameters,...
متن کاملEnvironmental effects on mechanical properties of glass/epoxy and fiber metal laminates, Part II: Isothermal aging
The aim of this study is to investigate effects of isothermal aging on mechanical properties of fiber metal laminates (FMLs) and glass/epoxy composites. For this purpose, both materials were fabricated using the wet lay-up manufacturing technique under vacuum pressure. Both the glass/epoxy composites and the FML specimens were then subjected to isothermal aging (130°C, dried air) for up to 5 we...
متن کاملAn Investigation into the Deep Drawing of Fiber-Metal Laminates based on Glass Fiber Reinforced Polypropylene
Abstract Fiber-metal laminates (FMLs) are new type of composite materials which could improve defects of traditional composites in ductility, formability, impact and damage tolerance. Drawing behavior of a thermoplastic based FML was investigated consisting of glass-fiber reinforced polypropylene composite laminate and aluminum AA1200-O as the core and skin layers, respectively. The effects o...
